Can I Delete My Steemit Account?

I was wondering if I can delete my Steemit account? (or anyway delete an old post)

I went to the FAQ section (https://steemit.com/faq.html#Can_I_delete_or_deactivate_my_account) and this is what I found:

Accounts cannot be deactivated or deleted. The account along with all of its activity is permanently stored in the blockchain.

...everything we are typing and publishing here on Steemit, will stay forever.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
