It's kinda sad that Matt felt the need to address this.

Albeit, I'm glad he did, and I understand why he did.

This is the first that I've heard that Trump's wouldbe assassin was wearing a Demolition Ranch shirt.

I guess it shouldn't surprise anyone that I'm a subscriber to the Demolition Ranch channel, among others.

What was said here, as far as I can tell, was entirely truthful. Other guntubers like Garande Thumb and Brandon Herrera have been more political than Demolition Ranch had. I mean, Herrera even ran for congress. Still, these aren't politically charged channels any more than to the extent that people politicize the presence of guns in the media.

Other channels have fact checked gun claims made by politicians. It's the name of the game that most of the absurd statements about guns come from Democrats. Still, for my years of watching Demolition Ranch fairly regularly, I strain to think of any statement that could be construed as an endorsement of a political party or candidate.

Even if that weren't true, it's the sad reality that people look to these "influencers" as potential "inspiration" for these maniacs. It's a common trope to see the media take this loose association with somebody, particularly somebody who has built a platform around something that the legacy media don't like, and try to create a guilt by association.

This was a mature and pragmatic response from Demolition Ranch. It's sad that it had to have been made in the first place.
