I have seen countless numbers of pages on all platforms across social media dedicated to romanticizing and making it look like a beautiful phase. Why is this a problem? It is a problem because it is a poetry and a pleasant picture which is attractive and when you associate it with a social platform, people (mainly teens) tend to be inspired by such quotes and live in a make-belief world of depression which actually leads to depression. It's not a beautiful Sociopath. Not every sociopath is Sherlock Holmes.

Depression is a maze and once you enter the maze, it's terribly difficult to make it to the other side. I often see pictures of knives, self harm and blood on social media with such poetic quotes. No, that's wrong. That just makes it worse. Inducing self-harming thoughts via beautification is the worst you can do.

If you are suffering from depression ..

If you think you spend too much time on social media, cultivate a habit to not do so. Try learning something new. Perhaps a skill you have always wanted to gain ..

There is a difference between clinical depression and depression. You may not have all the nutrients to make your body and mind feel good. Try consulting a doctor and get a check up of vitamin, iron and other nutrition levels.

Try participating in seminars, could be any topic! Food, science, technology, music, politics. Whatever you like, try learning about it.

Listen to music. Try classical music. Listen to pieces like Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy or Nocturne Op.9 No.2 by Chopin. These pieces might suffice to beautification and romanticization .. trust me :)

Every person is different, just because they have a knob on the Internet figured out their life does not mean the same technique is going to work for you. I'm sure your parents will. If you do not know what to do, you will be able to talk to the library and make an effort to talk to someone, and the library is filled with hidden gems and beautiful minds :)
