Why depression is not a JOKE

Depression is oftenly viewed as a joke or as a matter that means that the person is weak by people who do not care much about mental health.

But depression is an illness.

It makes people sad, and lonely- completely dragging their mood down, until they are left with nothing. They would be in despair, wanting to get back on track, but there would be a certain void in themselves which would be hard to fill in.

Sometimes, depression has a certain trigger- like a traumatic experience or such; but there are times, as well, where no certain trigger happened- it can also just be the work of an unhealthy mindset.

Either way, depression is NOT a laughing matter, and should be taken seriously.

If you know someone who is experiencing this, please seek for help, immediately.
