Living with bipolar

in depression •  7 years ago

Bipolar known as manic-depressive illness, is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks.
There are four basic types of bipolar disorder; all of them involve clear changes in mood, energy, and activity levels. These moods range from periods of extremely “up,” elated, and energized behavior (known as manic episodes) to very sad, “down,” or hopeless periods (known as depressive episodes). Less severe manic periods are known as hypomanic episodes.

I have been dealing with manic episodes for about 5 years. Recently being medically treated after a series of suicide attempts. IMG_3081.JPG
I've since gained back from of my
Mood control after a series of hit and miss bipolar meds and mood Stabilizers. With proper counselling, support and medication it isn't as much of an emotional shit storm. IMG_3082.PNG
I spend most of my time manic. In a Constant state of being on top of the world. Usually 3 weeks at a time then 1 week of feeling empty and emotionless followed by 1-2 weeks of horrible depression to the point I can't even bring myself to get dressed. It's not easy and it may never get easier but it's better. Better then before the meds better than before the support and counselling. So if your struggling seek help it's the best choice and it could save your life like it saved mine.
