I understand why plenty of people might not like Alan Dershowitz.

There's been plenty said about his character, associations, hypocrisy, drift towards the right, and some really bad takes over the years.

That said, I really enjoyed both "Rights From Wrongs" and "Shouting Fire"... and in general agree with his take that reviving and preserving a culture of free speech is important and ignoring the spirit of the first amendment for an exclusive focus on the letter of the law in cases where it's constitutional protections don't apply is a mistake. So when I saw he had some free stuff about free speech on audible, I figured I'd probably like that too, and downloaded The Case Against The New Censorship.

It's incredibly short, and he still couldn't help but shoehorn in a tangent on pro-Israel stuff not relevant to the argument at all, and even managed to make me want to defend AOC on a couple of things he attacked her for that also weren't relevant.

It's making me want to go back and edit stuff I've been writing that occasionally drifts off in the same way to avoid his mistakes.
