Merapi is a volcano in the provinces of Central Java and Yogyakarta, Indonesia that is still very active to this day. Since 1548, the mountain has erupted 68 times. It is close to the city of Yogyakarta and there are still rural reefs on the slopes up to a height of 1700 m. For the people there, Merapi brings blessings in the form of sand. Whereas, for the provincial government, Mount Merapi is a tourism object. Now Merapi is part of the Mount Merapi National Park area.
