A sweet desert i have made with the unique flavor of pan/betel leaf.
Pan or betel leaf, which is consumed majorly in India and have many medicinal benefits. It is generally available in pan shops, where it is stuffed with many sweet and tobacco seeds. It is typically served after a meal which is good for digestion.
Here is a image that you would see in every corner of Indian street, famously know as Pan.
Kheer is a rice pudding from the cuisine of the Indian Subcontinent, made by boiling rice, broken wheat, with milk and sugar. it is flavoured with cardamom, raisins, saffron, cashews, pistachios or almonds. It is typically served during a meal or as a dessert.
So i thought to give a twist by combining to most favorite dishes.
Ingredients:
- Betel leaf 2 pieces
- Milk 1 l.
- Amul/milk powder 4 spoons.
- Sugar 1cup.
- Condensed milk 1/2 cup.
- Khoya 200gms.
- Almond powder 2 spoons.
- Rose water 1spoon.
- Grated coconut 1/2 cup
- Soaked rice 1 spn and grind it to a smooth paste.
- Paan masala 2spn.
- Gulkand 2spn.
- Rose petals 2-3.
- Cardamom powder 1spn
- Tuti fruti 1spn.
- Dates 1 spn.
- Fennel Seeds 1spn
- melon seeds a little
Receipe:-
STEP 1:- Boil the milk.
STEP 2:- Put the rice and betel leaf paste pour the hot boiling milk and continuously stir it.
STEP 3:- When it thickens a little add sugar,milkmaid and khoya to it and stir it continuously for 15mins till it thickens.
STEP 3:- Add milk powder, cardamom powder cashew nuts almonds crushed, rasins and stir it.
STEP 4:- Switch off the gas add pan masala, tuti fruti,dates,rose water,rose petals, coconut grated and saffron to it.
STEP 5:- Add a little ghee/clarified butter at the end and serve it with some coconut ,pan masala and tuti fruti.
