✍ My graphic design - Branding for flour seller

 
Demetra is an Italian brand of flour sellers. They contacted us with the request to help them with branding. They didn't have logo or name.

The client came up with few ideas inspired by antique symbolism. After consultations with her, we have come up with the idea of beautiful woman's face from side combined with rye grains in the hair.

 

Sketching

I have statrted sketching out some ideas and possible solutions. In order not to have very small details in the logo, I have decided to make entire hair out of rye grains.

 

 

First concepts and construction process

After many, many iterations we have perfected the geometry of the logo. The client came up with the idea of hair in front of the ribbon. This helped balance the logo color-wise.

In the last steps we have changed entire way the hair is done to make a logo fit the square format and make it more compact.

 

 

Typography & colors

Trajan Bold was an obvious choice for the logotype, combines with Textile for the optional slogan.

 

We have defined colors in all color spaces, pantone and plastic films to make it easy to use for the client in the future.

 

 

Safe zone

No other elements should be in this zone when the logo is used. All exceptions need to be consulted with professional.

Conclusion

This was a truly interesting project. This logo will be used on thousand of products, not only in Italy. We would like to thank the client to help us with honest and well constructed feedback.
