WHY YOU NEED TO HAVE THE RIGHT LOGO

Success starts from creating the right logo. This has been proven true by companies that spent time in making and developing “the one” such as Apple, Shell, Canon, General Electric (GE), IBM, Lay’s and other well-known organizations. When they finally found what best represented them, they stuck to it and it immensely affected their popularity.

Here are few points on why you should spend time, money and effort in creating THE right logo for your business:

1. It reflects your identity.

Amazon’s logo has a smile from A to Z to relay the message that “the company is willing to deliver everything to everyone, anywhere in the world.” It did not just send the right message to its customers but it also became a daily reminder to their team what the company’s goals and values are.

Having the right logo sets the tone of which a company will function from. A lousy logo shows a lousy institution that can either produce lousy employees or attract lousy customers who will not return for the products or services being offered.

2. It derives right customer response and sales.

First impressions last. This applies to every aspect of our lives – in dating, going to school, having your first day at work and most especially, in business. Logos serve as a first impression of how good or bad a company is. They have a great and lasting effect on how you want your customers to respond.

When the clothing brand Gap tried to revise their logo in 2010, the reaction of the public and its shareholders was not positive at all. One Harvard Business Review stated, “The logo looks like something my pet hamster could cook up in PowerPoint.” Of course, this did not help their sales.

A study was also published on 2013 in Psychological Science which concludes that logos and branding can have a profound influence on decision-making. The result suggests that “branding information and subjective preference are integrated into a single source of evidence in the decision-making process, thereby altering choice behavior.”

3. It distinguishes you in the market.

As Aristotle said, “the soul cannot think without an image”. If you want to rise above your competitors, you should make it easier for people to picture your product/services. What do I mean by that? When consumers make a listing of groceries, they will remember the items they need by their aesthetic feature which includes the logo and branding. The right logo will easily remind your target customers what you are offering. It is very crucial to have an efficient trademark that does not only relay the message of your identity but would also increase your brand popularity. It is what will set you apart from others.

Finding the right logo is a crazy process but once you find “the one”, it will definitely help you in the long run.
