My entry for DESIGN A CHARACTER CONTEST by @w0olf.

The Process

jenno06022018.jpg

As usuall I think about what kind of character I want to create and do some pose doodles. Because of the color specifications I decided to create a dryad but I don't want a fancy beautiful dryad, I wanted a dryad in battleform.

This time I made a clean outline, normaly I like my outline rough and use that for my paintings.

I used black to add a shadow layer to my drawing and decided the direction of light.

According the color specifications I created my color layer. Normally I use more than one layer but in this case I only used one.
The result of all layers together is my final picture which you can see at the top of this post.

I adjusted the wood structure in the direction of the extremity. Thanks @basileonardo for the advice :)

Wow outstanding work!

I am happy that you like it. Thank you for your comment.

Good job: D vote! although I would say as advice, the texture of the wood should go in the direction of the extremity, you know, horizontally, it will look much better
