What God rejects: Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame

Paul in the epistle to the Philippians explains to us that there are two citizenships, a worldly citizenship tied to the world and the pleasures of the flesh and another heavenly citizenship tied to God, to the spiritual; and that these citizenships are opposed to each other, this reasoning of the apostle Paul is very creative because it leads us to more interesting ideas, for example, about leadership and politics. This teaching of Saint Paul is so important that it inspired the title of one of Saint Augustine's works: "The city of God against the pagans".
Paul explains that this citizenship of heaven is to seek perfection in all things, in practical terms, to be way, truth, and life (John 14:6), that, is be precise and accurate, be of progressive mentality and increase life, because the goal of spiritual life is to increase the spiritual gifts, increase the wisdom, increase the perseverance, like the good samaritan (Luke 10:25-37).
That is why the apostle Paul reiterates: "All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things" Philippians 3:15. Placing himself first as an example to follow: "Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do" Philippians 3:17.
Because there are things that the Lord rejects, we cannot attribute imperfections to God such as passions, error, or sin. Those who practice sin are against what is pure: "For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things" Philippians 3:18-19.
Those who follow the path of Jesus, Paul concludes, must live righteously, because in the end, these are the ones who possess true heavenly citizenship: "But our citizenship is in heaven" Philippians 3:20.
