I have always seen the potential in this site - it's marvellous.
You can determine the number of stitches and colours. The example below is 40 stitches across.
The work done so far has been on crochet. I appreciate that there are issues with the size ratio in knitted stitches, but when I read your post I thought of this site straight away.
I'm now looking forward to seeing more of your plans, @muscara :D
