If you look at the picture-under which state/government-power would you want to live? That's exactly the war in Syria. Fanatical Islamist and unhuman against cosmopolitan and secular government. If I had the choice then I would rather live under the above picture. Terrorists remain terrorists and they are not rebels.

To be honest: Yes, the second picture frightens me. However, does the first picture represent the whole Syrian government? I doubt it. In German, we call that a choice between “Pest und Cholera“, which means that neither is a perfect solution. A perfect solution would be a violence-free democratic Syria.
Although Assad's government is showing great footage of female fighters, they are still far away from a trustworthy government. Does that mean, I'd choose the government illustrated by the second picture? No, that means that I'd choose neither of them.
