Come to the Garden
Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, Sit here while I go and pray over there. And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me. He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will. (Matthew 26:36-39)
Heartsick and weary? Is that the condition of your soul? It need not be so, My child. Give Me your weariness, your heartaches, your doubts and fears, as I gave those things to My Father. Come to the garden as I did. Rest awhile in My presence and leave refreshed and renewed, able to handle the pressures, the heartaches of this life. Able once more to look beyond it, to look ahead to future hopes and glories Not only to the hope of heaven—but to the hope of that next answered prayer, that next joyful gift that lies waiting for you around the bend in life’s pathway! I have prepared many glad surprises, many gifts along the way! Remember that. Hang onto it when the path seems gloomy and uncertain. Let your joy bubble to the surface. I do have everything under control.
good morning
