Scientists are going to do the wires from diamonds

The new development will enable us to produce compact chips that can provide high performance with a minimum of space. Now these devices seem fantastic, but the technology that will be able to translate them into reality, has been developed. Covering the copper atoms and sulfur diamond dust, researchers from Stanford University managed to produce the thinnest wire in the world.

Work in this area was carried out and earlier, however, the possibility of mass production of nanowires appeared only after the results of recent researches, writes Cnet. First, the diamond wire has a very high conductivity; second, this structure with a thickness of only three molecules "self-assemble", like the designer.

Developed in the research laboratories of the technology is not always used in real life, however, it is the tendency toward maximum reduction devices contributes to a quicker introduction of modern developments.
