“Oleh-oleh” or “buah tangan” has the same meaning with “Souvenir”, “Present/gift” or “Merchandise” in English.

Some examples of usage of this word are:

Souvenirs

  • Souvenir is a must brought items after you travelled somewhere. (Buah tangan merupakan barang wajib yang dibawa setelah kamu bepergian kemanapun.)
  • We have been collecting unique souvenirs from everywhere: keychain. (Kami telah dan sedang mengumpulkan buah tangan yang unik dari berbagai tempat, yaitu: gantungan kunci.)
  • Indonesia has several of souvenirs from every province. (Indonesia memiliki macam-macam buah tangan dari setiap provinsi.)

Present/gift

  • I have bought sun bonnet as a present for mom after I went to the beach. (Saya sudah membeli topi pantai sebagai buah tangan untuk Mama)
