1.PRODUCT
There is an expression Do not sell me air, which us used to pass the message that whatever idea, explanation or commodity one is trying to pass should have value and not be, well rubbish.
The first important success stage in marketing is to have a strong product. It does not matter how much money you throw on marketing a product- if its bad, then soon your work will be in vain. A product, be it a service first it has to be there, second it has to be of solid standing. Buyers are very sharp and able to decipher between poor products that are taking them for a ride and good solid product they can rely on. Therefore, you need to make sure that your product is acceptable and can survive competition.
To have the right product is not an engineering feat but a process that you achieve by carrying out organised system of production and discipline. When you take shortcuts in management and business systems, it will become very clear in the final product.
- PEOPLE
The second P in the ppp formular is critical because , unless your clients are yourself and your family, people are essential if you are goin to make money. The common mistake some people make is to assume that their product is what the people need and is the best for others because it is a good idea or appears good to them. Just because you like it does not mean that the majority of people who make up your customer base will also like it and spend money on it. Do not forget you are in the business of making money-therefore, it is not what you want that matters but what your clients want.
Human beings are very interesting and unpredictable, but they share traits that you need to understand before you engage in marketing. This is where research comes in to test several things:-
a) The market research.
b) The needs of the people.
c) The desires of the people.
d) Techniques to capture the people.
- POPULARITY(PROMOTION)
Marketing is all about making sure more people than yourself know about your product, desire to use it and actually use it. Once you have understood your market is now time to make sure the whole world knows about your product by making noise. YES, decibel levels help, you have to be able to tell the world you exist by making tons of noise. Do not be shy to tell people about your product and company.
