I've been traveling with a backpack and a laptop on and off for the past few years and now I'm finally at the point where am able to travel sustainably year round. My main source of income is through a small business (setting up/managing airbnbs remotely). This allows me to travel almost anywhere in the world (providing I have good wifi and a decent lounge/cafe). This year I've been to Hawaii, Southern California and now Lake Atitlan. Lake Atitlan is much more within my budget and it's easier for me to find cafe's to work out (everything is open to the outside without windows, doors or shoe requirements).
I get most of my work done at "Del Lago" which is owned and operated by none other than @buttcoins There are dogs begging for food, kids running around, epic views of the lake; which includes an erupting volcano nicknamed "Fuego". Besides the setting, the coffee is delicious ($1.25), lots of food options, and fast wifi. There are also rumors of fiber coming so that's exciting.
One of my favorite ways to break up the work day is to walk out on the dock which is just downstairs and take in these views. It's great during the day, but once the sun sets it becomes a surreal landscape.
Another reason I'm starting to enjoy this place more is that there seems to be a genuine and growing interest in cryptocurrency beyond just getting rich and collecting lambos. I participated in @buttcoins weekly crypto chat last week and had a great time sharing info and talking about the future of crypto with locals and travelers. Participants were from all over including an ethereum developer, a hostel owner, a former economist, an entrepreneur and a traveler from Argentina.
This might not be the most productive office space, with all the distractions, but it suits my lifestyle and I am happier because of it.
I love that you found a way to travel perpetually. Thanks for the props... it's great having you around the hostal. I like being inspired. I find you inspiring... and nice to have someone to chat crypto with.
See you tomorrow at 1. 😎

You're welcome. It's great to see crypto communities emerging. I can only imagine what the San Marcos Crypto scene will look like in a few years.
