I have more than 1600 followers and I don't feel that's helping me. Maybe because I invite new people to steemit and they don't have enough steem power to make me grow with their upvotes ? Maybe my posts are not good enough to be upvoted by those people ? Maybe steemit don't give them a notification about my posts ?
It's ok I will not give up, I am not writing now to get big money, I am writing just to have fun.
The only thing that my followers give me it's hope and hope it's much better than money, thanks for supporting me, thanks for commenting, upvoting and resteeming, thanks to not give up on steemit even if you still don't earn that much.
I am up to almost 700 now. I wish they would be more engaging but I am very grateful for all of them.
I love it here, even though it can be frustrating not getting many votes. I enjoy writing so I am not going to quit! How many posts have I made elsewhere and never received anything?

As well as with regard to posts on Stimit, it is that situation when quality is more important than quantity. Qualitative followers leave a feedback upvoting or commenting your post. It is not worth to expect that followers, which came to you playing in follow per follow game, will be active ones.
I have almost 800 followers, from them more than 150 users are considered as dead (were inactive last 3 months). And only 15-20 persons read my blog and leave a feedback.

I have more than 700 but I found out from steemitspecticles.com that 400 of them have never interacted with me. Seems like there must be a lot of data mining going on and a lot of people who follow everyone they can.
I have decided to stop putting all my effort into steemit and focus more on writing stories that are primarily shared elseware. I don't want to waste my time with posts that I hope others to see and get no views so my writing at steemit has become more for catharsis and for connecting with others than for sharing my best work.
