Good point.
It's been my observation that if water is close enough to walk to then there is likely an aquifier only a few foot deep underground.

The idea of getting water from the air is not completely unsound, especially if one lives in a reasonably humid climate. The science is there. The atmosphere does contain X% water vapor, however-much "X" is. However, this device is a joke.

'dewpoint' is a thing.

But...but... somewhere in the world a child is thirsty...I have to buy one so I won't feel guilty. It doesn't matter if it works, it only matters how I feel! If you don't think and act the same, you are a selfish, exploiting a$$ that deserves to roast in HELL!

exactly the point of my post.

I claim the intellectual property rights over an wind energy system to stop soil from freezing and damaging root systems!

...it's block chained! lol

I imagine a gigantic turbine producing water is a project or a reality

They aren't all that stupid though when you see they've raised 186,000 dollars for something which can't possibly work. I don't suppose they have to return the funds when it doesn't ever see the light of day.

P.T.Barnum comes to mind.

I think if he was coining that phrase today, it'd be 'one born every second'

I wish you could read this about these poor children and discover what some people here going tru... https://steemit.com/nigeria/@pharouk/do-you-know-facts-to-know-about-these-children

yeah...Nigeria.
Nigeria has been populated by humans longer than most other places on the planet.
There have been people there since before the beginning of recorded history.
Yet, for the most part, they live in poverty.
Is there a lesson in that?

Sir.. Am not trying say there's no lesson in what you wrote.. It is very educative and informative....just want to bring your attention to this.. Beside.. Sir, Nigeria is not living in poverty at large . There's average in level of wealth distribution.. We can say poor government lead to this and we are not the largest in the world and its not destined for people to be like this.. The Al-Majiri are not poor ,they are more poorest than the deep meaning of poor ... The lesson I want to derived from the write up is that, sometimes, somewhere, some people lack this basic needs and people don't know about it... I really appreciate you sir. May God bless you more and increase you In knowledge.. Thanks Sir

I remember seeing this when it first came out, thought it was a good idea at the time but also thought it seemed to good to be true!

This particular one is a scam.
However.
Water vapor DOES condense on cold surfaces.
There are other ways to make it happen.
I've been considering peltier devices powered by solar cells.

awww what a shame .. entertaining debunking.
Thanks EDM!

As I always say: "show me the numbers!" and the second video did just that showing the idea is absurd.

There is a similar process but for air conditioning:

Geothermal heating system price varies depending on the type of loop system, usually either vertical or horizontal. On average, a typical home of 2500 square feet, with a heating load of 60,000 BTU and a cooling load of 60,000 BTU will cost between $20,000 to $25,000 to install.

And you know what, every ac unit generated water condensate and there is no one who would drink that water.

In Hong Kong, they mostly use window units and water drips from these units and are a nuisance to pedestrians because that water condensing from the filthy air is even worse because of the other source of contamination. It will be very expensive to keep that water condensate clean enough to drink.
