Humankind's Continuing Struggle (IV:5)

in diversity •  8 years ago

IV:5 Humankind has not only isolated itself from other species on Earth and in Universe, it has isolated itself from itself. Humankind has a tendency to divide itself into groups, with race being one of the most prominent divisions. In division, however, humankind loses sight of the fact that the different parts are components of a larger whole. The parts alone would have much more difficulty surviving long term rather than as cohesive parts that form the whole. Yet, this is exactly what some sectors of humankind are attempting to do. Diversity is strength. Diversity allows for the variations that lead to growth. Lack of diversity is like the early human technology of non-color facsimile and photocopy machines. When making a copy of a copy, the image loses integrity. If copies are continually made from the previous copy, the image loses more integrity until it eventually disappears. Compare this to original images copied on a high definition full spectrum color copier. Diversity of thought is also crucial to generating new ideas that lead to progress. Progress is survival. If humankind stops progressing, it will no longer be able to adapt to the ever-changing conditions on Earth and in Universe. Failure to adapt is how extinctions occur. Fortunately for humankind, ignorance is a weakness that eventually dies off on its own.

Thank you, kind bot. I do have an appreciation for automated technology. I do often wish that the SETI institute was more responsive. Another place of interest: http://www.yomon.xyz
