Get YouTube DIY-er's joining STEEM

Calling all D.I.Y. Engineers

Hello fellow STEEManians!
This is my "First" STEEM post, so please don't hurt me to bad LOL

I'm looking to start some DIY channels with the intent of showcasing a much needed outlet for all the DIY-er's of our world. I'm hoping to introduce as many as I can to the STEEM platform as possible, along with the help of the STEEM community.

Why???

In today's world you'll find most DIY-er’s post their content, workmanship and ideas across various channels and outlets like YouTube, Vimeo, Instructables.com, etc., with the intent of getting their vision and ideas out to the masses.

Almost anyone today can post a great video or content onto YouTube while getting instant feedback and results but, what about the "Professional" YouTuber's?

Where is the incentive or drive to make the next video?

Unfortunately any motivating incentives start to boil down to a very small list.
What could possibly motivate a Content Creator to keep producing future content?
From experience, I know editing content "just for the hell of it" isn't much of an incentive.
So what are those plausible incentives?
Maybe...

  • Gaining more Subscribers through exposure
  • Accumulating video "Likes"
  • YouTube possibly paying you via Advertising Dollars
  • Continue to collect rave reviews from viewers

That's really about it!

As a Content Creator, if exposure is the only thing your really concerned about, then many of these outlets are very suitable and accomplish a majority of what the Content Creator needs and/or wants.
But there still lacks one very "distinct" element that Content Creators should want and it's an option that hasn't been presented to them by YouTube.
A monetized connection between the Host Content Creator and their viewers/subscribers.

Currently as a Content Creator there's only three, very hard ways to getting paid,

  1. Rely on YouTube to give you a cut of Ad Income
  2. People making a "Donation" (via PayPal, BTC, etc)
  3. Ad revenue through a Website

Monetized Content

Yes, most know the possibilities to making a decent or even GREAT income on YouTube.
There's many people who worked VERY hard towards gaining subscribers and viewership,
with the hopes of making some type of income from their YouTube channel.

I have a question though… Is YouTube paying and/or playing fair since they hold all the purse strings?

A question for YouTube content creators... Do you feel that you’re getting a fair and just cut from YouTube's MASSIVE income machine????

I’ll venture answering that for you and say... Hell No!
Maybe... just maybe, if you've got like over 1+ Million subscribers to your channel then you might be able to answer YES. LOL

And this is where STEEM can really fill the void!

How could this work?

  • Content Creator uploads Video on YouTube and a STEEM link and description of how their Subscribers/Viewers can help participate on STEEM.
  • Content Creator makes a STEEM post with YouTube link (or embedded video).
  • Subscribers can now Up-Vote and Reply on STEEM to help the Creator make extra money without the Subscriber needing to send a direct “Donation” via PayPal or the like. (They would only need to purchase STEEM to “power up” their voting ability)
  • Content Creator now makes a combined income between STEEM and Youtube!

Very simple and POWERFUL!

Where I'm going with all of this?

I’d like to see the STEEM community help campaign on YouTube and similar sites/forums that house DIY-er’s.
We can now show Content Creators how to increase income by implementing STEEM into their Content Creation and asking their followers for support and to subscribe onto STEEM and help Up-Vote their content.

Imagine if we could help out few YouTube creators a month join STEEM and port over their followers?! Some decent YouTube Creators have 3k-72k+ Subscribers.
Do the math while letting your imagination run with this idea!!

I hope you enjoyed this post and Up Vote it along with any help seeding the STEEM world to the DIY crowds.
I know I have some ideas on who to reach out to. Maybe we can compile a people list in a separate post?

PEACE

I feel the same about eBay

It's funny, I was thinking of this the other day, there are some really good Youtube channels out there that should be encouraged to keep going. I think once the big payout happens, it will be easier for us to persuade Youtubers to come over to here. Bearing in mind that they'll still have to host their vids over there.

Hosting your own video's on your own server seems to be a better solution.
with mediagoblin.org for instance. Then youtube can't delete your video's or censor your channel

True, and dtube didn't exist when I wrote this last year :-)

Cgee

When YouTube censors a channel, then that steemit post also becomes 'damaged' I have a few google sites, where i embed youtube posts, and it's alarming how many posts are unavailable after some time.
I'm running one site with 3D printer info for a couple of years now, and it feels like 50% is already missing.

Embedding youtube video's will bite you in the long run. Unfortunately that's how I experience embedded youtube video's .

Wow, seriously? I mean 3D printer stuff, if you're not talking about making weapons I would have thought that was fine for Youtube.
