Hi there all
This is my attempt at making a Tie die shirt and it came out pretty good. I will show you step by step how I did it.
You will need
- A White shirt
- Rubber bands
- Food coloring ( any color you choose)
- Injection syringe
First lay your shirt down on the floor
And pinch where you would like the spiral. Start twisting your pinch.
Keep on twisting until it is completely in a round shape and place your rubber bands on it to secure the shape
Put your food coloring into a container for easy handling.
Suck up some food coloring into the syringe and squirt it onto the shirt. ( the more colors you have the more divisions you need, I used 4 colors hence 4 divisions) make sure to use enough coloring to flood the shirt through.
Place the shirt now in the sun until it is completely dry.
After it dried out take off the rubber bands and try out your new shirt!
Please note this is NOT permanent after you wash the shirt a few times the color will go out ( depending on coloring used ) a more permanent solution is to use real fabric dye , or put the dry shirt in a oven on a LOW heat for a while.
