Home made log splitter.

in diy •  7 years ago

The splitter was made 100% independently in our workshop.

All elements made on a small lathe TUE-35, only the cone after rolling from steel C45 was put into hardening in a hardening furnace up to 46hrc.

A thread with an 8mm pitch made with a parabola-shaped knife.

Three-phase motor 3.5 kW / 1440 rpm used Gear ratio about 1: 1.8, which gives about 800 rpm on the work item.

The axis of the cone is 12 cm above the table.
