Lasercutter Build Log - New idea for X-Axis idler pulley

in diy •  6 years ago

I haven't had much of a chance to work on my Laser cutter project recently due to over 40C temperature days and starting a new job recently.

Here is the start of a small update to the build.

I was not happy with the design of the X-Axis idler pulley system that I had already implemented as adjustments in belt tension seemed clunky.

So I designed a different method to make an idler pulley that can be tension-ed with screws, similar to the way the K40 laser cutter works.

Once completed (and paint dry), I will post pictures of the completed assembly.
