When you live in a small place (at least, what's considered small in northern New Jersey) you sometimes have to make some concessions. Currently, we've only got one actual computer desk in the house and since my wife is at home with the boys all the time she's pretty much always got her computer there so I just find somewhere else to use mine. It's not usually a problem to sit on the couch or the floor with my little laptop table, but from time-to-time I need an actual desk to sit at while working on a podcast or a video. One day I got tired of messing around with setting something up so I grabbed some scrap wood and screws I had laying around and built this plank that I can "mount" to one of the lower drawers of our dresser. I find it's actually a really cozy place to get some work done... but that might partly be because I lock myself away in our bedroom while I'm doing this. :-)

really tiny tabletop, I personally would need more hand resting space by the mousepad
