The Arizona Diamondbacks were looking for starting pitching.  It now comes in the form of Madison Bumgarner.

The DBacks signed the veteran lefty to a 5 year, $85 million contract.  There is some money deferred in the deal.  Arizona is gambling that there is still something left in the tank with Madison.

Bumgarner spent his entire career with the San Francisco GIants bursting on the scene as a rookie.

Arizona needed some starting pitching after trading Zack Greinke to the Astros at the trade deadline.  This move could also open the possibility of trading Robbie Ray, with a year left before free agency.
