The New York Mets had a decent season in 2019. They did not make the playoffs which was the goal. They did add 9 wins to the previous season's total, finishing with 86 wins.
This off season led to the firing of manager Mickey Callaway. He was replaced with another first time manager, Carlos Beltran. A likely hall of fame player, it is going to be interesting to see how he handles the role as manager.
The team could have a magical season. There is a nice core of young players in the every day lineup. The big key appears to be Edwin Diaz. He was a big part, along with Callaway, in the team not reaching the playoffs. It is hard to envision him being as bad in 2020 as he was in 2019.
The bp was strengthened with some of the moves this off season. If it can be one of the better ones in the NL, the Mets could make some noice.
