The New York Mets sale to Steven Cohen is fell through.  Reports are the hang up was the Wilpons, the present owners, wanted to maintain control past the transfer of ownership.

We are now seeing reports that state the control of the team will go to the new owner as soon as deal is finalized.  This hangup appears to no longer be in place.  

Reports stated that Jeff Wilpon was behind the pushing away of Cohen.  Wilpon evidently wanted to stay on past the 5 years.

The search for new owners are set to start on Monday.
