To hire experienced or inexperienced?
That is the great debate raging in major league baseball right now regarding managerial positions. It seems teams are flip flopping which way they go.
The Chicago Cubs had one of the most experienced managers in baseball in Joe Maddon. He was the highest paid, completing a 5 year, $25 million deal.
With his contract not being renewed, the Cubs were in search of another manager. According to reports, the Cubs are going with the inexperience side of things.
They are hiring David Ross to be their next manager. Ross has no managerial experience at any level. This is a complete turn for the Cubs from what they had before.
