I saw this shepherd on sale as part of a nativity scene in a garden centre near us just before christmas.
It suddenly dawned on me just how fair skinned they all were, except for one of the wise men who was a black guy.
I guess no racist intent just a strange perception of the skin colouring of the bible characters, but especially the shepherd, who even in England would have a ruddy or brown weather beaten appearence.
Just one of those odd things I'd thought of for no particular reason that seems to happen on an unnervingly regular basis!
Even more sadly, Im looking forward to next Christmas just to checkmout more nativity scenes!
