A fern, Pteris melanocaulon , discovered to remove heavy metals from the soil of mining sites. This was discovered and observe by Ateneo de Manila scientists. Metals like copper an arsenic are the usual metals being washed out from these mining sites.
Though very useful, but these plants are not good food to eat by animals. The good thing is that this plants remove heavy metals from the soil which can do more harm that make the soil fertile.
