Star VR is the next level in Virtual Reality experience

About 3 years ago i talked to friends and colleagues about the ugly screen door effect, the low FOV (field of view) and bad resolution of Oculus Rift DK2. It was like looking through a diving goggle looking at jagged and dark pixel graphics from the last century. All the technical factors mentioned above lowered the immersion to almost zero in my point of view.. it was just a very early MVP which had no market potential at the time.

But imagined all these low specs getting improved by orders of magnitude through technological leaps was fascinating. My educated guess was it will need at least another 3 years to see much better glasses and now we are on the brink to really great VR experience!

Star VR could become a de-facto industry standard if you watch the video you get a better picture. But to really understand what a better FOV means you must wear such glasses. Honestly i didn't had the chance til today but i can feel it must be amazing if your FOV increases from just 110° (diving goggle mode) up to 210° degree! Because that is like our natural vision works. The immersion automatically would make a big leap.

2019 will be exciting because not only the high end glasses (foveated rendering, eyetracking, distortion free glasses) Star VR hits the market also Pimax a kickstarter funded project gets more and more traction in the consumer market. They just delivered the first 100 glasses to it's backers recently and have also 200° FOV with reasonable pricing.

yes, social media goes VR! The whole space is evolving together with AR.

Interessant!

this is exciting to look into the V.R industry is about to get hot soon :D

Yes, the early days are over, it is going mainstream. Thanks!
