Alrosa to Trace “Blood Diamonds” Using Blockchain

World's largest diamond producer, Alrosa has joined De Beers' blockchain pilot project "Tracr", on October 29, to track the diamonds efficiently.

This is one of the best use cases for blockchain.  The diamond industry is nasty filled with murder and slavery.  It is time to end it by ensuring those who engage in such activity do not profit from what they are able to pull out of the ground.

Does this still happen? I remember a solid movie about Blood diamonds and it really opened peoples eyes to where their diamonds are coming from. Then again a diamond is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. Why it ever became that a diamond means love to place on someones figure is beyond me.

Well, hope they are successful with their diamonds under blockchain.
