I used to have a “real” bass / $5k / pristine. But it didn’t have a thump to it. I played a few times with a bluegrass band and they were like, “what’s the deal with your fancy bass?” And then I realized my old beater was better, and I sold the bass to a bass student of my buddy. :)

I was given a 1961 silvertone electric guitar for helping this old musician lady out with digging irrigation ditches for her. Also got a 8x10 old ampeg stack with a svt 450 i think ampeg head with a full hard travel case for 300$! it was beat to hell but sounded amazing!
