Here is Part 1 of the Fender Modern Player Plus Mods.

It is a very well built guitar, but does need some upgrades, in my opinion.

Here's what I did:

  • Locking Tuners

  • Bone Nut
  • Taller Frets
  • Treble Bleed
  • Reversed Controls
  • Replaced stock bridge Humbucker
  • Block saddles to replace stock bent saddles

Cool guitar and you've made it your own. They are tools and there's always things that can be improved.

Of course this needs the #TeleTuesday tag :)

@steevc CRAP!!!!!!!!! I forgot again..... I swear, my brain sometimes!!!! :-) LOL

You can still edit :) I'm about to do a post for it

K - Let's do it!! :-)

those tuners are nice/

@danielownsall Thanks! I break strings so much, I need to get them changed fast sometimes. :-)

I never break strings.

@danielownsall :-) I have lots of guitar friends who say that LOL. I, unfortunately, do not have such luck. I play 11's ...still break them.

There's a Tele Tuesday here? Cool!

Who made that bridge pickup? Is it a filtertron type?

Nice work!

@rossfletcher Yes, there is now. @steevc thought it was a good Idea, so we are passing it on. :-)
The Pickups are Retrotron Hot Nashville fro GFS. My next project will be a Cabronita style - I may try TV Jones for that one. Thanks for watching!

I have a Scott Lentz Tele that i need to get some shots of and post. The TV Jones are really good! A Cabronita style would be killer. I think Jason Lollar has some great stuff that might fit in a humbucker spot. I had a set of his P-90's in a 54 gold top reissue that sounded really good.

hold on a second here... Tone tubby cab? What's in it? I have 3 of the early red alnico ones from when they first started making them. They have so many now , i wish i could try them all! Haha i guess i need a giant studio with full of amps and on and on.

@rossfletcher The Tone Tubby is a Chicago Blue. It is amazing. Their rep literally listened to my playing style and knew which one would fit best. These are great. I will be getting another at some point.

That's really cool. They make some great speakers. I want to try one of those purple ones... expensive!

Yes, they are pricey(Hemp Cones), but man, the Tone. :-) I will let everyone know when I get another.

What amp are you using?

@rossfletcher oops! Just saw this :-) I use either a Quilter 101 Mini Head, or as of late, the Vox MV50AC.

So cute Telecaster.

Thank You!!!

:)
