I thought about this also, though as I suffer with the dreaded limited bandwidth all new users suffer. I found it easier to make my own channel on discord, and send my small amount of new friends on here a link to it. So when I am down on bandwidth I can still socialise with the people I like to upvote and chat with on here, without using any of my bandwidth.

Funny meme..About Private messaging which can be a mixed blessing. While there is a chance to contact people, there is also a chance to harass people. Many get unsolicited propositions of all kinds on their PM. Eventually the sex sites start to send a ton of messages.
But I do agree, it would be nice to be able to contact someone directly even if through some type of email system which is susceptible to spam also.
