Yesterday on our usual walk, Nefnef and I ran into two Russian men and a cat.
Neither are unusual here in Haifa :)
While Nefnef started chatting with the cat, who must have seen her before, because it stayed calm, the men asked me about Nefnef.
Her age... Well, other stuff too which I didn't understand.
Then we all started walking up the stairs, Nefnef still talking. She makes sounds, imitating my voice. I discovered the latter after I'd been sick two years ago, and my husband walked her for a week. Afterward, her voice was deeper. It flew up in the treble again after a week.
One of the men turned around and said to me, "He medaberet" (she talks), and I, happy, replied, "Yes, exactly!"
It's the first time I haven't had to explain why she is always chatting. Some people think she whimpers, but she doesn't. She's just chatting. She talks.
I haven't figured out all of her sounds yet, but some means "cat", others "Nefnef walks nicely", and "Nefnef out to pee".
Important stuff, in other words.
I'm glad somebody else, even a stranger, noticed.
