This is my story a short lived wonderful pet relationship. His name was Dorje’. We found eachother on Craigslist!
June 1st we met at his previous owners appartment. He came right to me and sat at my feet. Him and I knew our farm was the perfect new home. Little guy was quite the chubster but I knew with the right dog food and some exercise he would be happy.
He soon regained health on long walks around the property. It took him a while to figure out that this yard was much bigger than his previous one!
We got a dog to chase the rabbits out of the garden.... but this little one turned out to be a cuddiler. Plus we discovered he could not see more than 7 feet away! When he wanted up into your lap it was a consentual process, he would lean back, sit on his butt and so gently place one paw in your lap.
Even the skittish cat approved of him. They were often caught sharing a food bowl.
He also oversaw the farm work
He even had our friends backs..... well he slept on them.
He did get in trouble once.
He ate the cats medical cannabis treat.....
Or maybe the cat gave it to him?
Generally he stayed on top of all situations and people. He never wandered far.
The last four weeks of his life he was 100% blind. He was a magical little ball of affection. He did get to experience the August Eclipse before he crossed over. I brought him home June 1st and he died in his sleep September 1st. Rest in Peace little buddy.
I had to share this with you all because it helps me let it go. I think it is healthy and sane for people to talk about death. Dorje’s health really took a downturn that last week of his life. It was a sad process. However I am not traumatized. I am greatful to have experienced a wonderful living being and witness the lifelessness of his body once he was gone. Talk about these forces of life, post it, write it down, just get it externalized where you can clearly witness the process inside yourself. Live life conciously. I do believe we all continue to exist in a different plane of existance when we die. If we live our life seeking truth death might not be so daunting.
