Week 31 (March 2019)

Welcome to Recent Developments. In this series I post about domain names that sold recently and have since become developed into an actual website. In other words, this is a focus on end user sales and what they are doing with their recent domain purchase!

End user info in the domain name industry can be extremely valuable. You can learn a lot from this type of data, because it shows you what an end user price was for a particular domain name. Hopefully you can apply that knowledge to your own domain investing both on the buy as well as the sale side. If you know what people are willing to pay for a domain it can help you price your domains right to sell.

On top of all that, it's fun to see what's new on the web!

Domains Recently Developed

Today we're looking at 3 domains that sold at the end of January that have been developed. Two .com domains and one .co domain. All 3 domains sold in the 4 figures area, one at the low end, one at the mid point, and one near the top end. We'll start from the lowest and work our way up to the highest sale. Let's have a look!

CoinCards.com

The first domain is CoinCards.com. This domain sold on January 29th, 2019 for $1,456 at NameJet. This domain belongs to a crypto gift card company. They allow you to buy gift cards for a large variety of retailers with crypto coins! Thus in a way allowing you to spend crypto currency on everyday things!

According to CoinCards.com

Coincards vision is to help the cryptocurrency industry spend their cryptocurrencies at all retailers, using those retailers existing Gift Card infrastructure.

I like this domain and I like the idea behind this company. It may not last forever if or when retailers begin to accept crypto currencies but right now it's a stop-gap that works. The domain is short, simple, and easy to remember.

NextThing.co

Next we have NextThing.co. This domain sold on January 29th, 2019 for $3,000 at GoDaddy. The domain belongs to a search engine of sorts offering the ability to search through product reviews and find you the best option for a product you are looking to buy.

I'm a fan of .co domains and looking at the domain name only, I think the domain name is alright. I personally don't think the name, "Next Thing" really explains or conveys the idea behind what this site is doing. For that reason I don't like the domain for this end user.

MyMoov.com

Finally, we have MyMoov.com. This domain sold on January 29th, 2019 for $8,007 at Sedo. The site on this domain appears to be for a car rental service finder based out of Brazil.

I'm not a huge fan of this domain. I don't like that it's two words and that the 2nd word is not really a word at all. It's a hard sell for me to combine a real word and a made up word in a domain. I don't like it.

Anyway, that concludes this edition of Recent Developments.
