Often time, people give up when it becomes too hard or takes too long. After failing a few times we respond by just giving-up.
Achieving a goal doesn't always come in handy. For most, a couple of failures come before the eventual success.
Here are my top 6 reasons why I think people like to give up:
- Lack of Capacity:
Have you built capacity to handle the business or project you want to start? What knowledge do you have about the business? Do you want to do it because someone else is doing it well?
Remember, "You can't force a 50 litres water into a 10 litres jerrican."
What if syndrome:
What if it doesn't work? What if I fail? What if people don't like it? What if I waste my money on it? ...... Fill in the gap with your own "what if"Lack of Discipline:
Pursuing a goal necessitates commitment and a lot of discipline. When discipline is missing, giving up becomes an option.Distractions:
Most people have other responsibilities, daily struggles and routines that have become ingrained in their very system, so they lose concentration.Doing too many things at the same:
I used to be like that. Wanting to achieve so many things at the same time. Such action would only wear you out as it did me. Execute one project or business at a time. The Lack of belief:
Do you believe in your ability to bring your idea to fruition? Otherwise, there is no point trying because would certainly give. You have got to believe you can do it.
Unfortunately, if the above reasons are our responses we are ensured defeat, because failure is going to happen. We are going to encounter obstacles and frankly, we might be completely clueless about what we're doing. You need to understand the fact that failure is natural. It is inevitable. If you are not ready for failure, I mean for a couple of it, then don't bother trying.
Start your week with a winning mindset. Go out there with a determination to win regardless of how many times you have to fail.
