The creation of my Historical Parallel piece set me off on a database frenzy. I soon started to create multiple documents to catalog my research.
Ancient Mystic Texts
(https://www.academia.edu/7640777/Ancient_Mystic_Texts)
This piece became a no-brainer. I was reading and discovering new texts daily. I not only needed a list of them for myself, but one that could be shared with others interested in the type of research I was engaged in.
Scriptural Reference
(https://www.academia.edu/7641282/Scriptual_Reference)
Since so much of the material I was reading was religious in nature and since documentation enabling the replication of data being presented so essential; I chose to develop a compendium of key ideals, scriptures and where they could be located. Nothing worse than regurgitated ‘facts’ with no basis in reality, or important truths developing a mystical connotation.
Ancient Places
(https://www.academia.edu/7640805/Ancient_Places)
Once again…a no-brainer. This is simply a list of different locations, actually both ancient and modern, that have relevance to my research. Of course, when applicable, dates are listed to indicate when an ancient site may have been in operation. It also has a section where I can, and do, list how I may have come across that information…if remembered when added. To date, the document is small and most of the information comes from a single book.
