Silver has kept up with inflation since 1964 to say the least. Since 2007-8 silver has nearly doubled in value while the dow has not come close to a double. Silver went from 9 to 17. The dow went from 15k to 21k. You would be wealthier holding silver since the 2007-8 crash.
