Do you agree with the decision to ban @thedarkoverlord from Steemit?

The Dark Overlord, or @thedarkoverlord on the Steem blockchain are a group of hackers which threatened to release 9/11 hacked litigation documents. After the victim began cooperating with law enforcement, TDO decided to leak these documents for in layers for payments in crypto.

They were banned from Reddit, Pastebin and Twitter so, they turned to Steemit for censorship resistance.

As promised, they released the first layer of 9/11 documents and continued posting normally on the Steem blockchain.

5 days and 13 posts later, they were banned from Steemit, causing a massive shitstorm.

Nevertheless, their content is still and will always be stored on the Steem blockchain, it has just been removed from Steemit.com

Is the ban justifiable?

What are your thoughts on this?

Let me know in the comment section down below.

Where to find @thedarkoverlord ? Their content can still be viewed on:

We have many other options. People should stop caring about Steemit too much and think about STEEM much more. It is STEEM that is censorship resistant.

Voted for yes, because....

It all boils down to the interpretation of Steemit and Steem.

Steem is censorship resistant and not Steemit. Steemit is a private company with it's rules and policies. If one is banned from using their website, he has got to try another dApp and if he in turns get banned from using the others, he has to built his own dApp to enjoy total freedom of interaction on the Steem blockchain.
One can never be banned from the Steem blockchain!

Yes! That's exactly my thoughts! Great opportunity to differentiate Steem from Steemit and to prove that Steem is in fact censorship resistant while certain interfaces aren't.

Absolutely!

preventing illegal activities is not censorship

No, that would have been some damn good advertising for Steemit.

Voted for no, because....

Because steemit claim to be censorship resistance.
