The issue/question here is why they say/claim to be independent on one hand but at the same time give up on all their rights and want to be a member of the EU. The question is: Is it smart to stay in the EU!

It is not about should they stay or not.
Personally I do not care if they are patriots or not, like to be a small provence of the EU and are willing to pay a high fee for it.

I.do not even.understand why it is so difficult to join or leave. It is a club, you pay to join and if you do not like it you leave. The world will not end and import and export will not stop either.
