Stippling

Every once in a while I like to mix things up a bit and try something new. I've always been a fan of tedious artistic tasks that make my fingers hurt and my brain melt. So I thought I'd try this technique called stippling. Stippling is pretty straight forward. Basically you draw using little dots until your fingers bleed.

I did this for a couple days just to get a feel for it and really liked how much control it gives you over a piece. At first you think that it will end up sloppy and lack depth, but if you push through to the other side you just might like how it looks.

Both of these drawings only took a few hours each. I was enjoying the technique so I wanted to try something a little more extreme. Thus began my most tedious drawing session to date, that nearly took four days of tapping my pen up and down on paper to complete. I will post that one tomorrow.

Let me know what you guys think in the comments. What is your favorite drawing technique? Have you ever tried stippling?

Thank you. Best of luck to you as well.

These are absolutely stunning! Love the look this technique produces, as well as what you've actually drawn. But, I'm also obsessed with horror related things which your pieces definitely would fit in with, haha.

Thanks man, I'm glad you like it. The one I'm posting tomorrow is horror related as well

Very interesting composition and I like the technique. Well done :)

Thanks :)

The second picture reminds me of a visual poem where the horns rhyme with the branches of a tree.

These came out splendid, but yes this technique is very tedious :)

This 'stippling' effect is growing on me... I might try it out. Awesome art as always.
