A dream to remember? Or Not!

I rarely remember my dreams. I vividly remember mine from last night and it was a weird experience overall.

Especially in my rare nightmares, I'm an active participant and, just like in Inception, I wake up when I die. In this one, I wasn't a participant. As a result, the story played out until the end even after feeling like I just witnessed a brutal murder in cinematic fashion.

That's also a weird thing - there was a story. There was actually a plot. There were flashbacks. Before I woke up, the two main characters in the dream have this whole evaluation of living in a world in which every value that isn't deemed purely scientific is shunned.

Unlike any of my previous, scary, gruesome dreams, I didn't wake up terrified in a sweat. My first thought was curiosity. I was trying to think of a short film that I've seen or short story that I've read that related to what was in my brain and came up blank. I tried to think of anything that would put that those thoughts and images in my head and I couldn't find anything.

What's even weirder is that, when I replayed the dream while being conscious, I realized that plot actually made some logical sense with a few holes.

Needless to say, since this thing woke me up at 2am, it kept me up for a while trying to process the whole thing.

It was interesting. Still, I hope I don't have another one like that for a long time.
