Dreemit's World: Happy Wine Trail Wednesday steemit!

I hope you enjoy the first in what will be a weekly tradition. Though this time I went it alone, there will be many upcoming summer days where friends will be involved, so be sure to stay tuned :)

The Finger Lakes is home to three different wine trails, Seneca being the largest with 35 member wineries.

And this is where I shall begin this new series starting with:

Lamoreaux Landing Winery and Vineyards

To learn more about this particular winery check out: https://lamoreauxwine.com/ABOUT-US

I was initially concerned that I hadn't picked the ideal day for this since a storm was coming in as I drove...but instead the skies were fantastic, ominous and beautiful. Particularly as the sun was still out, shining through these dark clouds, making some of the photos almost surrealistic.

One of the best things about the Finger Lakes wine trails, particularly Seneca, is the amazing views of the lake you are treated to as you enjoy a tasting or a glass of wine. In particular the wineries located on the 'lake side of the street', as a number of these have balconies to truly capture magnificent landscapes.

I kept expecting the sky to open up and the rains to come pouring down, but it held off...what a sky, am I right?

I enjoyed one tasting while I was here, a Moscato which was very light and sweet, since I came alone this time and therefore had to drive myself home. Truthfully though, Lamoreaux tends to have far drier wines than I prefer. Though I no longer have quite the immature palette I once did, I still prefer at least a hint of sweetness. I find many semi-dry wines to be quite good as long as there is plenty of fruity afternotes.

This sky, all I can say is WOW.

@meesterboom recently made the observation that it's as if everyone scatters everytime I show up somewhere...a few people did arrive while I was leaving, but late afternoon on a Wednesday before summer has truly begun is generally not considered prime time for wine tours.

I have to admit I often choose a time when I know it will not be crowded (though I have no way of knowing it will actually be deserted). I feel there's a time and place for photos featuring a number of faces, and otherwise it's nice to get unobstructed views.

Did you have a favorite among the photos? If so I would love it if you let me know inside the comment section :)

It would not be an alcohol related post without a little music. For this one I chose the first video my brother created and uploaded to Youtube. It is not live, rather a photo journey, you'll see pictures of himself, his wife, and at the very end a group of our crazy friends.

His original song Getaway is perfect to start any party:

All the photos are fabulous but I think I like the very first one best, showing the difference colours of the plants under the lowering sky.

Thank you darling! I'm having trouble deciding between that one, the one with the picnic table, vineyard, and lake in the background, and the last one. I really do love that ominous sky, but you're right about the colors in that first one (and I'm a huge fan of lots of colors ;)

Yes, the last one is spectacular as well.

I definitely like the first one with the solar panel and pouring rain in the background. I really liked all the ones with faraway rain in them, what a perfect day for cloud shots.

It really was. There I was worried about it being a bad day for picture taking and it turned out amazing!

Oh wow those storm clouds really made the colors pop! The shots were amazing, and I really wish you were tasting beers instead of wine so the "shots" would've had a double meaning haha!

I know, I was really excited about how they turned out :) Oh there will definitely be some brewery posts in the future of Dreemit's World!

Nice!! I'm sure the @beer-trail would appreciate that very much :D

It's a beautiful spot. We're lucky to have scenery like this around here that most would envy. Awsome pics. It's hard to beat any of these pics. Love them all. Good job!!

We definitely are! Thanks, I'm really enjoying my new hobby, I never realized how much I would enjoy taking pictures, finding just the right moment to capture :)

Absolutely GORGEOUS photos!
What a beautiful place to relax and enjoy some wine. The storm clouds were something else! I hope the rains passed by quickly.

There you are lovely!! It really is, and I think the next one I'm going to do is even nicer, has a huge outdoor deck. I don't want to go to that one alone though, it has a brewery as well, it would be a lot more fun with company, haha!
Yeah, we had thunderstorms on and off, the sky would be ominous, then turn blue again :)

wow. These pictures are high quality, amazing. The last one with the clouds was my favorite

Thank you! I'm loving my new camera, it definitely captures details. I am totally with you on that last picture ;)

The sky in all those photos is beautiful. You could frame them or enter them into photo competitions for a good chance at winning with that sky.

What an awesome thing to say! Thank you! I really do think they were incredible skies, perhaps a contest will come along about skies :)

We both share love for horror fiction and wine!

Nice! Have you put out a new chapter? I've been insanely busy these past couple of weeks, haven't been able to keep up quite, trying....you can always drop me a link when you put a new one up though, love the story ;)

Haha I love the tag you just started!!!

I'm glad you like it! It gives me a great excuse to visit these amazing places (and do some tastings, and when I'm not the driver get a nice little buzz too ;)

Looks like a fun day out. Hard to pick a photo I like best. Your new camera does great in natural indoor light, very subtle colors/light.
The 'wow' clouds are really cool, and the one chair out the window/doorway is also great. Too many to pick just one. Thanks for putting out another Dreemitsworld, they are fun.
