The war on drugs

Drugs have been something for humans to enjoy for thousands of years. However, in more modern times, governments have tried to control most, if not all drugs. This has been a major failure, and I will discuss this to some extent.
There are several legal drugs, sugar, alcohol, nicotine, and the list goes on. There is also a whole plethora of drugs that are illegal in most places, some of which can be beneficial, for example MDMA, LSD, cannabis and the list goes on for very long.

All the war on drugs has ever caused is mass casualties both economically as well as human lives. The war on drugs cost lots of money and human lives, and there is very little evidence that this war is beneficial. If a government seizes 500kg of cocaine, there is always LOTS more somewhere else.

Of course, there are some drugs that in my opinion shouldn’t be completely legal, but probably de-criminalized. And there will always be people who say that the war on drugs helps with fighting drug use, and to them I say, ‘’It is not helping very much, if at all, and at what cost? So much money and so many people have been lost for this cause’’. I am of course not saying that the criminals are good people, but if narcotics were taxed and sold legally, with prescriptions so many things and people could be saved. And if it is not legal, why not de-criminalize user doses, and offer medical help to people instead of fining or imprisoning them
